Martinez KO of Williams: Great KO or Lucky Punch?

They just talked about this on Around the Horn.

The question looked at how Martinez eyes were closed and head turned when he connected with Williams for that huge knockout. Kornheiser seemed to lean towards "lucky punch", while Wilbon said "great KO".

I compare this to a QB throwing it to a reciever in football when he can't even see. Is that not a great thow if it's a nice touchdown? Or a no-look pass in basketball. Is it not a great pass?

The instincts of an athlete make him great more times than not. If Sergio Martinez threw a hard shot and landed it there, it's because he meant it.

I agree. He literally has no defense. His offense is his defense. I can't even remember him ever blocking a punch.
