first. martinez will be weight drained at 154. 2nd. both floyd and pac CANT actually make 154. 3rd. martinez last 3 opponents 2 of those were smaller. i want to see him get involved in the middleweight division (guys that are his own size) how can he be the KING OF THE MIDDLEWEIGHT DIVISION WHEN HE HASN'T REALLY FOUGHT MIDDLEWEIGHTS?

Kelly pavlik was a MONSTER at mw

he used to drop down from 200 lbs to make 160 and weigh in the high 70's on fight night

6'2. 76 inch reach (78 according to showtime)

paul williams is at least 6'2 and has an 81 inch reach

he knocked out kermit cintron (what more can you ask of the guy?)
cintron didnt come close to beating that count and the ref allowed himself to be influenced by cintrons corner after an absurd amount of time

        you're a hater, dude

Maravilla is a classy boxer and human being
he's evidently got the power to hurt guys with either hand (his hook is still his best punch, even if williams ate it all night in their first fight... he didnt see the left hand coming in the second fight and ran right into it. sergio couldnt have thrown a harder punch without coming off a mound)

i'm glad he's getting his due at 35
hopefully he gets some good paydays and a couple big fights before he retires

finally, to adress what i thought was the heart of your point...

the MW division SUCKS right now

other than pavlik (who has evidently outgrown the division and he did it a while ago)
and williams (who he just knocked unconscious in two friggin rounds..)
the big names at MW are Felix sturm and Sebastian Sylvester
dimitri pirog is a solid fighter by the looks

        but come on now..
do you honestly think martinez is going to fight him?

Opponents for martinez should be smaller guys coming up
they've got the incentive of trying to win the MW world title (one of the sports richest championships w/ some of its greatest fighters and reigns... the same belt held by BHop, monzon, Hagler, robinson)
against a guy who is relatively simmilar in size (lets say at this point in his career sergio is a natural 156-8 lber or a jr middleweight)

        bring on pacquiao
if he beat's maravilla (and i'd say it would be close to an even money fight, i'd give the edge to martinez) he is a top 5-10 p4p great
if he loses it would likely be via decision and not a huge hit to his legacy

the money would be HUGE if they start marketing maravilla right
and maravilla deserves to have his star rise as much as any other fighter who would beat pacquiao

What I'm saying is: Why would Sergio give a **** what you think? When he is 35 years old and has to think about his future, his family, and his retirement, and which match-up makes him the most money??

That's what he's concerned about. His FUTURE. Sergio is not concerned what a poster on a message board wants him to do.
he's 35. if he actually cleared out the middleweight division i would consider him a ATG. he would gain MORE respect from real boxing fans then to pick on more smaller fighters like pac.

whats right is right. IF HE'S THE BEST AT MIDDLEWEIGHT HE NEEDS TO PROVE IT. I DONT GIVE A DAMN WHAT A BUNCH OF GAY FANBOYS WHO CALL HIM SEXY THINK ABOUT IT.

pavlik is THERE to be outboxed. i ALWAYS knew that after taylor outboxed him in the REMATCH. old man b hop did the same. cintron was a welterweight moving up. willams was smaller. i don't care HOW tall paul was. paul is a stick compared to martinez. paul doesn't even use his height. and pauls style is MADE to order for martinez so the height REALLY doesn't matter.

i will have NO respect for him if he retires after 1 or 2 fights because he CLAIMED he was the best at middleweight but didn't really fight at middleweight.

THE MIDDLEWEIGHT DIVISION IS BETTER THEN HIM FIGHTING AT JR WELTERWEIGHT THATS FOR SURE.

these are the guys he could face that are his OWN actual SIZE.

              Daniel Geale

              Hassan N'Jikam

              Dmitry Pirog

              Sebastian Zbik

all guys that would give him the fight of his life.

i don't see martinez as the KING of the middleweight division personally. i feel he will be beat by a FEW of those guys at middleweight actually.

picking on a smaller fighter like pac proves NOTHING to me. fight guys your ACTUAL SIZE.

Since no one seems to car about weight classes. Martinez should just continue to win the Super Middle.. then stream roll and win the Light Heavy Titles. Then Heavy weight title before he retires.

if martinez claims that he's the BEST at middleweight he needs to PROVE it. if he claims that he is the king of the middleweight division he needs to PROVE IT. those guys at middleweight work just as hard as the NEXT MAN. sweat. tears. BLOOD. GUTS. and for another guy that haven't really faced middleweights "claim" that he's the KING of the middleweight division. he would have to PROVE IT by actually getting a lot more involved in the middleweight division.

rather then trying to face smaller fighters.

i don't give a RED EYED damn WHAT his gay fan boys think about it.
