I know his style isn't meant for an older fighter and this makes the most sense......but d@mn just when this dude has arrived, bought excitement back in the MW division and took some of the much needed attention away from Manny and Floyd.....dude is close to hagging em up.

If he only has three....then you know they will be money fights, which he deserves, but I would love to see him go out a dominate for a few more years. I'm just curious as to what you guys think about Martinez career ending soon?

the sport needs him but i can understand if he'd leave soon coz of age. only problem is there isnt any big names in his weight class now, so i think he might go past 3 fights or until he hits a big money fight.

I hope so. I mean I have been following him since the bunema fight and this dude is absolutely peaking right now and might get a little better. I see him bringing much needed life into 154 and 160

Martinez is a little old although a little younger in his age than others. I think his best option is to fight a couple of big names, dominate them, then hang em up. Martinez will be 37 when he retires.

Unfortunately he's already well in retirement territory, it can't be long before he begins to physically decline and it's a smart idea to get out before it gets to the point where you begin to pick up losses to fighters that you would have schooled a few years prior.

I don't see Floyd or Pacquiao fighting him so I'm not sure who his three will be though. I don't think he will shy away from challenges if he realises the Pac / May paydays are not a realistic option.

Agreed. Martinez will be probably 37 when he hangs em up but I think it's a good age to. Martinez isn't getting any younger either... picking up needless losses is something he should avoid.

your right no way he can walk away from millions left on the table, Martinez needs his fix like Hopkins. Hopkins was ablet to land Trinidad now Martinez needs Pacquiao or Floyd to help cement his legacy. Pirog is to green and Sturm ain't fighting anybody with a pulse, I think Martinez will end up facing Winky Wright as a stay busy fight!!!

In 3 more fights Sergio will be 37 going on 38. He's going to suck so why the f--- would you want to him keep fighting when he sucks?
