    Pacman vs Martinez at 160...

Ok, so people always talk about catch weights and what not... so what if they have this fight at 160 BUT make it same day weight in. Wouldn't that make more sense? That would be a TRUE middleweight fight like what henry armstrong fought against. Would you agree to that? (btw its only in the early-mid 80's that they changed this... probably due to scheduling issues if a fighter didn't make weight? Im not exactly sure...)

how would it be a true middleweight fight? pacquaio would still come in at like 145 lbs. Margarito weighed around MW on fight night.

martinez should fight serious contenders at 154-168, let the gayboiz who need the "starpower" of manny and floyd whine

I think this is the first time in a very long time I would think Pac will lose, but if he beats him I don't think too many can argue Pac is top ten ATG

Anyways I would rather Martinez fight people above his division. There is heaps of fighters that he could come up against in Middleweight and Super Middleweight. Who knows the way things are going he might be part of the Super 6 :P

yeah agree. too much weight difference for them. if Sergio wants a real competition without draining himself why not fighting in a super middleweight division? catchweight is there to make great fights. he doesnt want no catchweight so i guess he doesnt want to fight any of the top 6 super middleweight guys in 165 lbs. thats where his real competition because of the weight closer to his.

i agree that Manny would lose if they fight in 160 lbs. Manny would still show up below 150 lbs.

it's pretty odd how people dismiss 168s for martinez, who lets say is half way between 154 and 160, last fight was paul's silly catchweight of 158

its like a 10 pound gap to 168...

yet they're ok with manny vs martinez, manny is a 135er pretty much, hes a tad small for 140 (only puts like 3 pounds back on) and usually cant even make the 147 limit, it's a good 20+ pound gap from him to martinez on fight night even with this scenario, and pounds matter a lot more the lighter you go

I know what you guys are saying.. but you guys don't think it'd be a competitive fight to watch if the weight in was day of? Not just competitive but fun to watch... Or is the weight difference so much that it would be an utter mismatch?
