Let's be realistic, Tracy Byrd would NEVER let her whipped husband fight a tough opponent....look at who Byrd has fought since he got the IBF belt:

Oquendo - no punch
Golota - no ability
McCline - no punch or ability

and you think he woulda fought ROY JONES??? PLEEEEEEEZE!!!!


but for hypothetical arguments, Roy would have won just as easily as he did vs. Ruiz, easy UD12

you forgot to mention David Tua. that was before he got the ibf belt but still, Byrd is a very brave guy fighting guys who outweigh him by so much. byrd is as good a boxer as roy jones is, you can't compare him to ruiz, thats ridiculous.

Roy should have fought chris byrd instead of john ruiz, that would have proved some thing, yes i think he would have beat him it would have been interesting fight,
Montel Griffin was a nobody, he was getting beaten up in both fights what roy was mad about was that he wasn't able to k.o him already.

I agree. McCline is no chump. Byrd won that fight convincingly. He showed good speed, skill and alot of heart. I would take Byrd over RJJ.

I actually think this would be a good career choice for Roy providing he gets by Tarver, he could move up and if he's impressive enough catch an aging Chris Byrd on the decline.
