Most importantly, ' THE MIDDLEWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP' is meaningful again...

No disrespect to Kelly Pavlik, but I felt that he held the belt hostage for a long time.

Thankfully, we have a real middleweight champion who happens to be one of the 2 or 3 or 4 best fighters in the world at any class. And a guy who doesn't make excuses, doesn't ask for catchweights, doesn't take vacations, and is good-looking and humble.

The middleweight division is a glamour division - one of the original classes- and every boxing fan should be happy about who is representing it..

The only downside seems to be the lack of depth there. Surely, there's a big money fight with JCC Jr. There may be good fights with Angulo or Kirkland.

Pirog has no following. I'm sure Ishe wants a crack, etc...

Surprisingly, Sturm is still only 31 or 32, and he has great experience.

There's a good batch of youngsters in and around the division too, hopefully they will start maturing in time so that it's a smooth transition once Serg gets a bit old and ripe for the taking.

Peter Quillin is an exciting knockout artist, he is the future of Middleweight, and from Cuba/New York.

Happy days, While i liked Pavlik..Arum was just holding the belt hostage for him, He didnt really want him fighting any genuine threat after getting his chance and am glad Sergio beat him for those belts.

It is nice to have the first stud champion of the post B-Hop era at middleweight.

Now only if they can find some competition for him.

sergio has fought a lot of low-paying fights.

I do not normally believe in "deserves", but in this case, Sergio DESERVES to get a nice fat payday. That is at least partly why I hope he gets a Mayweather fight because everyone makes a career high payday with Floyd.

Also, a fight with Floyd or Manny would get him on the huge stage. Sadly, only 5,500 in attendance at Boardwalk Hall last night.

Cintron, williams, pavlik, williams 2 is a nice run not to have gotten a big check.

Plus, he was stiffed out of possibly two wins in 2009.

middleweight division is one of my favorites.

Martinez pulled out some Hagler type of **** right there.
