    I very much doubt so, but it's possbile. I think what really contributed to the win was that Sergio figured out Paul, but Paul did not figure our Sergio. Williams wanted to pull a Quintana 2, and that is not the tactic to fight a good counterpuncher.

      Looking at how hard Sergio hit Williams on the chin, the gloves would of provided little difference, it would of felt as though he didn't have gloves on by the velocity of that punch.

        didn't sergio hit pwill with similar punches in the first fight?

        i remember seeing the replay when something came out of pwill's nose after a solid punch by martinez.

          Yeah, if you notice, both fighters were moving forward, very very nasty spot to get hit on a chin.

            I think that Sergio may have found something he didn't know he had when he moved up in weight to fight Pavlik. Sergio caught PWill with some punches that were thrown with much more determination than in the first fight. To an extent this may another Pacman type of case where the weight improved his performance. Maravilla looked very solid, I would pay big money to watch Sergio take on Floyd.
