Its 8am, has Paul Williams woken up yet?

I'm all seriousness, last night was shocking stuff. I felt Martinez would win, but certainly not like that.

Would you guys be opposed with a rubbermatch?

Can Paul mentally recover? Something like that changes an approach in a fighter and it'd be sad if he becomes a more defensive fighter.

Is a rubbermatch with Carlos Quintana viable? I certainly think so.

Where does the Punished go from here?

What you said. He can rematch both of them...

or fight against Margarito, again, @ 154.

I think this will affect him a lot. He certainly won't be as intimidating to other fighters and even if he adapts his style to be more defensive he will not overwhelm his opponents as easily any more and now they know his high punch output and willingness to throw can be exploited by anyone with fast hands and good power. Im sad to say that i don't think he will be the same.

        i don't think a rematch is needed

Martinez should have been awarded the first fight and now he said he would knock out Williams and he has

Williams needs to realize him and Sergio are a class apart

go back down to 147 where he will probably be able to take a punch better and go from there

I thinks its inevitable. He'll have to change or risk another brutal KO. I also think 160 as of now will be too much. He just should stay at 154

I agree but changing his style to be less offensive will hurt his punch output and ability to swarm his opponent so i don't think he will become what he was before last night.

Maybe he and cotto could fight each other after cotto beats chavez jr and after williams had a few tune ups...Sergio will likely stay at 160 so Cotto and Williams could battle for 154 supremacy.

I like a Cotto/Williams fight. Have the fight at the end of 2011 or beginning of 2012. I really don't want to see a Chavez Jr fight

Put it this way.....No one felt there was a need for a rubber match against Quintana....and their first fight wasn't disputable.

Maybe taking punches from a 170 Pounder ws too much. We'll see what Williams does next. Whatever he does he has my support.

He'll move back down to 147-154 and will probably find it a bit easier to get a fight now. I hope he comes back strong and continues to put on great fights and a rematch with Margarito seems to make sense for both fighters now since they're both coming off bad losses.
