That's why I said technically- everyone has been bigger, stronger than Manny regardless of betting lines. Hell, if Pacquiao-Martinez were announced today, the betting lines would be HEAVILY in favor of Manny, no one outside of boxing fans has any clue who Sergio Martinez is. But on paper, like every other challenger Manny has faced in the last few years, it's a physical mismatch.

Williams is not shot at all he didn't took any damage it was a one punch ko and after the interview he didn't looked mentally beaten he just look disappointed and mad saying he caught me i didn't see that punch coming he can still dominate welterweight and jr middleweight and even though he lost i don't think team pac will facing him neither because he didn't take long term damage.
Don't expect PWill to be the same fighter by any means, though. He's going to have to abandon his "reckless abandon" game plan for every fight and actually learn how to box and place his punches.Comment

"Pacquiao sucks, he's not worth it. Clottey, Margarito, Cotto landed 30% of their shots on him, i'd double that with my superior handspeed and I can actually move out of the way of punches. Mayweather is the true best fighter in the world and we want the best not that farce catchweight champion. We would not be motivated for Pacquiao."Comment

Sergio knew what he was talking about when he said Manny was too small. Manny is really small for a middleweight. not a fair fight asking Manny how is a pound for pound, on top of the boxing world to fight Martinez ouf of shis comfort zone. why not fighting Manny in his comfort zone instead of the other way around? Manny will rearranged Martinez face in 150 lbs. Martinez will definitely beat Manny in 156 lbs, not because he is better but because Martinez is a natural middleweight and would outweigh Manny by 20 lbs.Comment

I say bring Martinez down to Junior Welterweight and let him fight Pacquiao for the linear Junior Welterweight title. So that Manny will knock the air out of his gut!Comment

I just feel Martinez has a good understand of weight classes and who can make what.
He feels Pacquiao is too small for him...but also he feels he is too small for SMW.
Just like Manny would only go to 154 for a money fight and the right opponent, Both Martinez and Dibella stated they will only go to 168 for the right fight and the right amount of money. They ruled out punchers like Abraham, Froch and others and will only take Bute because the money involved. They might not even take that...but if tehy did make the jump....that would be the fight.
So I really can't see a difference in what Pacquiao did as compared to what Martinez will do. Bute is better at 168 than Margarito at 154...but I meant as far as just fighting for money and looking for the right guy that he will best match up against.
I don't knock either move...just keeping it real and this is what I got from the three interviews concerning Martinez from last night.Comment

Are *******s really saying Martinez is too big when pac just finished fighting a much bigger and larger Antonio Margarito? ***ing ******s!!!Comment

I feel he might be too big, but I doubt that would stop Manny from fighting him. My stance is this: Let Manny try to make the fight with Mayweather fight in the spring. If it falls through...take a easy/decent fight...then go for Martinez in the fall. If I was handling Manny that would be the move I would make because there really isn't any one out there that would give Manny a challenge.Comment

This is what P4P fighters do..... Just like when Floyd moved up to fight Oscar De La Hoya AT 154 when he had only made 147 once before...
Manny also fought Oscar De La Hoya, only problem is Roach hasn't trained Sergio Martinez like he did Oscar De La Hoya so Roach cant say that Sergio will be weight drained like Hoya was who hadnt seen 147 since fighting Gatti in 2001. Roach can't express how Sergio wont let his hands go like he said about Hoya before Pac got in the ring with him. Roach cant express that Sergio is shot like Hoya and Margarito where before getting in the ring with Pac.....
What we can say is that Pac HAS fought Oscar who's 5'10 1/2 and Margarito who's 5'11 while Martinez is 5'10. Its not like Pac has NEVER fought a "bigger" guy before. Its the fact that Martinez IS a REAL THREAT and not a punching bag who said he can make 156. Pac has a title at 154. I bet if they showed Sergio the money, he would make 154.
I also hold the same standards for Mayweather..... Mayweather vs Martinez> Mayweather vs Pac IMO.
If you actually want to see Floyd lose......Last edited by WESS; 11-21-2010, 01:38 PM.Comment

Williams was getting tagged at will in the first round, reminiscent to the first fight (that he was gifted). As a matter fact, about 8-10 seconds before the KO punch, Martinez hit Williams with the exact same left that would eventually win him the bout.

his style would impose on the styleof berto for example and other fighters. his volume punching along with physical size would be alot to many fighters in between welterweight and jr middleweightComment
