I hope nobody lost respect for Williams...

What we saw tonight happens when you fight the best. Paul deserves all the respect in the world and when two great fighters come to fight somebody has to lose.

I'd rather be a fan of Paul Williams and see him take on the toughest fights than watch guys like Pacquiao beat up on "SHOT" opponents for a 12 round snoozefest.

Be honest and ask yourself which is more respectable: Fighting the best and getting knocked out by a great fighter (which has happened to many, many all time greats throughout history), or having your promoter match you up with the weakest opposition available, but with a guy who has just enough of a name to sell, so you can easily dominate another man?

To me the latter doesn't deserve much respect or praise. Taking the easy route is never impressive to true enthusiasts, but even in his loss, Williams has all my respect.

lol what a pachater. you know what's the difference between pac and williams? pac asked for a catchweight and beat up his opponent. williams got ktfo in 2 rounds in a catchweight he demanded.

Williams fought the best middleweight in boxing.

Pacquiao fought a washed up, shot, has-been in a fight nobody wanted to see for a paper title.

So the end result of the fight is irrelevant, it's the matchup that is worthy of respect.
