Roy Jones Jr. called it.
Roy Jones Jr. even called this one ... "a win by Martinez because of his slick style"Comment

Why do you say that??He would have been trying to put the pressure on a big and heavy handed puncher..Dude Pav is a strong puncher and he throws alot of punches as well..For you to say Pwilly beat's Pav is understandable, but I also say it's understandable that you see my point of why I feel Pav KO's him..Comment

i thought and wanted martinez to win.
his slick style really did work well, when i re watched the pavlik fight i thought he looked more usufull standing in the middle and letting his hands go instead of circling on the back foot.
and pwill for all his size advantages does not use them, but he does fight more entertaining, but obvs. dangerously.
he should use his height and reach more in future, especially if he rematches 3rd with martinez!.
Floyd wants none of martinez,he might fight pac now to avoid sergio! haha.Comment

Incredible, jaw-dropping KO!
Martinez may be slick but he's got pop too. He's been screwed by questionable judging in the US so I'm glad he got the KO this time. Fighter of the year for sure.
I'd like to see Paul work on his defense. And he needs a killer Hearns jab to leverage his height and reach. I don't know if he can do that with his current trainer though. I hope he's OK.Last edited by alembic; 11-22-2010, 12:55 AM.Comment

It is a distinct possibility.
Martinez wants that fight, and Bute does not have too many other optionsComment

Did someone say earlier that they felt it was a lucky punch ?
Or was that the other thread?
Williams got exposed.
Martinez got Paul coming onto him, and then ****** it in the pocket.
Watch the three little steps just prior to the punch, and then the skip forward before he unleashed.
Williams has always been open for that shot, and would be even more susceptible to a straight right-hand from a conventional fighter.Comment
