Just got in from Boardwalk Hall. Saw Williams and his entourage going up to his room. Spoke with Junebug (what we call Mr Peterson around these parts). Paul has to start fighting tall. PERIOD. While I will still pay to see him fight, he is going to have to fight to his advantages.

great win for martinez, i dont think ANYONE predicted that outcome. LOL.
i thought martinez would get a close decision in a boring fight.... DAMN, i was completely wrong... and pleasantly surprised this is what boxing is all about. martinez is a slick BOXER, he couldve SAFELY boxed willams but he mixed it up and went all out. the man deserves fighter of the year. i wish more fighters had guts like this guy. CASE CLOSED.

as for p-will, he got caught with something fierce... but it was a flash KO, he will be eager to get back in the ring ASAP. for people to betray and jump off the bandwagon is a reflection of how pathetic fanboys are. p-will is still a solid p4p fighter... any fighter will tell you, even a bantam weight can KO you if you dont see the punch coming... even after this loss, i STILL think he will be avoided based off of his obvious size advantages. he didnt get "exposed"... he was looking past martinez and didnt respect his power. p-will got blinded at the shot at pac... i STILL dont think pac or floyd will be knocking on his door anytime soon anyways...

Williams should have prepared more..

As they said.. Williams had more to lose than Martinez... his chances with Pacquiao are now shot... allowing to get hit like that shows no defense... Martinez now gets Fighter of the Year.

I saw PW loosing to Martinez 1st, then I saw him buckle against journey man Cintron before the akward ending. The way He was coming in He was sitting on the rail and the train was coming at some time.
Now we know why they ran in plastics for months to make welterweight. Bottom line is that He can't beat guys his own size. His technique was very overrated as much is not better all the time. His holding and hitting was anoying and the fact that He just walks in with no strategy throwing arm punches, holding and scoring most of his points with pitty patty shots was not only boring, but unfair when you compare them to a real shot on the score board. In their 1st fight, Martinez was landing real punches while in the mayority PW was landing pitty patty shots most of the night.
I hate when an arm punch with nothing counts the same than a real clear shot.
Martinez was not going to allow the judges to steal his fight again and said over and over that He was going to knock him out to avoid been robbed again.
He did, and What a shot.

I thought Martinez should have gotten the edge in the 1st fight & thought he could defeat Williams in the 2nd & if it was by KO, it would have come in the late rounds by Martinez hurting Williams & having the ref stop the fight..& since Williams was known to have a good chin I NEVER thought Martinez would ANNIHILATE Williams in that manner & especially in 2 ROUNDS!! What a shot & what a KO!Martinez MURDERED Williams!! Martinez has had 1 hell of a run in his past 4 fights.. 1st He gets robbed twice in 1 night against Cintrón(got robbed of a KO & then got robbed of a decision win when the fight was declared a draw), then he looses in a fight of the year candidate that I though he won(& many others as well) against the HIGHLY AVOIDED Williams..Then RIGHT AFTER THAT he takes on FAVORITE WBO & WBC champion Kelly Pavlik & Beats him!! & then goes for the rematch against Williams with the WBC title on the line & wins by a devastating 2nd round KO!!! Martinez DEFINITELY deserves to be FIGHTER OF THE YEAR!!!!!

1 thing I don't understand is, when the fighters were being announced, ¿Why was the Challenger(Williams) presented 2nd? ¿Shouldn't the Challenger be announced 1st then the Champion? They were fighting for Martinez's WBC title...
