    The self-hate mentality of African-Americans

Bernard Hopkins recent comments about Pacquiao not facing "black fighters" has caused a havoc in the boxing community. Mind you, this is the same Bernard Hopkins that has said "Manny is unstoppable"; "..the only person in the world that can stop Manny Pacquiao right now, is Manny Pacquiao" and etc

Now, of course Pacquiao has in fact fought "black" fighters. But apparently not. Because Africans are not really "black", they are just a bunch of Africans. Yes, we want African-Americans, because they are better.

This is the thing that really gets on my nerves. You really think an African-American will fair better against Pacquiao than an African, simply because they are African-AMERICAN? Rubbish. If you base your reasoning on the assumption that African-Americans are somewhat superior in sport because they are "black", sorry to break it to you but Africans are pure black, or at least a lot more "blacker" than AA's. And don't tell me AA's are better in sport than A's, I'm sure simply being shipped to the Americas won't make that difference.

In Africa, there really isn't a market for all the sport that is competed in the United States, and especially not boxing. The sports that African's do compete in are prominent on the international stage, namely football and athletics (long distance).

Now I agree that Clottey is not the ideal "slick" fighter, but can you honestly tell me Mosley is slick? He was stiff as **** in his Mayweather fight. Can you honestly tell me Pacquaio has ducked any black fighter? Mind you Mayweather is the one doing all the ducking right now. Are black fighters even present in the lower weight divisions where Pacquiao has made his mark? Why hasn't this issue been raised before if fighting a black fighter is really the ultimate test in determining the legitimacy of a fighter?

Now my final point, let me touch on something that has nothing to do with boxing. African-Americans, stop hating on Africans, you are neither superior or better than African's, stop this self-hate mentality that you still have today which has been indoctrinated into your minds during slavery. You may ask, how is this self-hate?

It is not pointless. And it is boxing related, I purposely put it in a boxing context.

Does this apply to African-Americans who don't self-hate? And if not, why do you apply it to all of them with your own words?

i keep telling yall, yall that buy into this hype are being played...............

it is just a sales tactic that is being used on all of you/us, to sell a match up that more than likely SHOULD NOT BE MADE............ pure and simple, it's marketing 101, and right now they have created a controversy and yall are buying it, then they will come the answer/solution........ it's problem, reaction, solution all over again, don't buy into it.

this has nothing to do about ACTUALY RACE, it's about match making and selling, nothing more.

hopkins is more than willing to be called and considered a racist if it's going to benefit him and his people, and by people i mean close friends or business acquiantances, to make big money. hopkins doesn't care about his name or image with this because it he knows exactly what he's doing and why, and what he's true reasons and motivations are. the rich don't care about race, and hopkins isnt rich by the real definition of rich, but he's rich enough to not care, and the people he works with and for are basically the same way.

the rich elite, political elite, etc, do not care about race, they care about power, control, and then, money. by using that tool (racism) the power elite get what they want through using us to do their bidding, fighting, and being distracted, all the while they play a different game and get away with so much stuff because we're too busy fighting and arguing about BS subjects.

well it's the same thing being played here, most people are screaming race, when it's about trying to get mosley a fight, which is at this point in mosleys career and manny's career a fight that really doesn't need to be made. but like all people selling a product, they try and sell you stuff that you don't need, that is how they grow their business. it's the same model.

we could be crying for a better match up, which a lot of us are, we could be putting more fan pressure on fighters and promoters about certain match ups, this that and the other thing, but what we're doing is arguing about he said she said, and they're just going to do whatever it is that they want and then say " THE PEOPLE DEMANDED IT ", WHEN THAT ISNT THE CASE.

either way you look at it, you're making hopkins and whoever he is talking about stocks go up, bad publicity is good publicity.................

          quit being so gullible people............

People are ****** and boxing promoters are smart. Bernard was smart enough to play the race card and all of a sudden it's a hot topic.

The race of Pacquiao next opponent should be a none issue. This is like when Mosley fought Mora and they tried to use a storyline that Mora can be the first Mexican fighter to beat Mosley.

We have to take into consideration that the era of african-american boxers dominating the professional boxing has faded...now you see a lot of Russians and Cubans winning in thier matches against their opponents!

a Non-American boxer Pacman has shown to the whole boxing world that he can attract large attendance/PPV which makes any promoter happy!
