Bernard Hopkins recent comments about Pacquiao not facing "black fighters" has caused a havoc in the boxing community. Mind you, this is the same Bernard Hopkins that has said "Manny is unstoppable"; "..the only person in the world that can stop Manny Pacquiao right now, is Manny Pacquiao" and etc
Now, of course Pacquiao has in fact fought "black" fighters. But apparently not. Because Africans are not really "black", they are just a bunch of Africans. Yes, we want African-Americans, because they are better.
This is the thing that really gets on my nerves. You really think an African-American will fair better against Pacquiao than an African, simply because they are African-AMERICAN? Rubbish. If you base your reasoning on the assumption that African-Americans are somewhat superior in sport because they are "black", sorry to break it to you but Africans are pure black, or at least a lot more "blacker" than AA's. And don't tell me AA's are better in sport than A's, I'm sure simply being shipped to the Americas won't make that difference.
In Africa, there really isn't a market for all the sport that is competed in the United States, and especially not boxing. The sports that African's do compete in are prominent on the international stage, namely football and athletics (long distance).
Now I agree that Clottey is not the ideal "slick" fighter, but can you honestly tell me Mosley is slick? He was stiff as **** in his Mayweather fight. Can you honestly tell me Pacquaio has ducked any black fighter? Mind you Mayweather is the one doing all the ducking right now. Are black fighters even present in the lower weight divisions where Pacquiao has made his mark? Why hasn't this issue been raised before if fighting a black fighter is really the ultimate test in determining the legitimacy of a fighter?
Now my final point, let me touch on something that has nothing to do with boxing. African-Americans, stop hating on Africans, you are neither superior or better than African's, stop this self-hate mentality that you still have today which has been indoctrinated into your minds during slavery. You may ask, how is this self-hate?
