"Terra" Garcia wants Mayorga!
By Ralph Gonzalez
Tijuana’s Alex “Terra” Garcia (25-1, 24 KO’s) got confirmation from x-rays at a local radiologist that he received a fracture of his middle knuckle on the left hand. The WBA super welterweight champ is coming off a decisive victory over Luca Messi as part of the Rahman-Barret undercard. Garcia’s manager Roberto Sandoval informed ********* of the injury and stated that a possible unification clash against WBC Super Welterweight champ Ricardo “Matador” Mayorga may be in danger. Mayorga, who fought on the same card and is also promoted by Don King, won the WBC belt by besting Michele Piccirillo. Garcia and Mayorga exchanged heated words during the pre-fight festivities. Garcia, who is an exciting brawler like Mayorga will not be allowed to work out with the heavy bag or punch for at least a month. “Alex had hurt his hand slightly in the gym during preparation but it got much worse as the fight against Messi progressed,” said Sandoval from his office in Tijuana. “As soon as “Terra” heals up we want the fight with Mayorga in the near future. It’ll be a real treat for the fans,” finished Sandoval.
What do you think? Both are brawlers. I just don't think brawling with Mayorga is the correct way to go.
