    After the Klitchkos...

Who would dominate the Heavyweight division. Who will be the next great Heavyweight champ. Let's take into mind David Haye is likely going to retire right after he fights one of the Klitchkos so he will likely not be there.

Who do u guys think? It doesn't have to be a current Heavyweight, it could be like a Light Heavyweight that is likely to move up like Adamek did. Or a Cruiserweight, or if ur willing to take the plunge a super middle weight (image Ward or Froch at Heavyweight). Whatever, u decide who u think will dominate the Heavyweight division.

Also, don't forget to take current age into mind. The Klitchko's may not leave for another few years so be sure to take age into consideration

That's a hard question to answer. Even tougher than asking who would be current champion had the Klitschko's never been born.

That would have been quite the merry-go-round with undefeated all-around guys like Sultan and Chagaev who just fell off the map when they couldn't beat a Klitschko, adventerous cruiserweights like Ademek and Chambers, highly physical yet inconsistent and unpolished wildcards like Peter and Tua, and a guy who has everything but just doesn't seem to have that extreme razor's edge/killer instinct like Povetkin. It could have been really chaotic.

I don't think Haye would have survived in that environment. He would have had to fight (and lose to) 5+ top HWs in a row to earn a title shot instead of just beat up practically-retired sideshows then earning big fights via talk show interviews. People wouldn't have been that desperate for action.

Vitali is turning 40 and retiring very soon, but if Wladimir fights for another 5 years that's a long time. Young guys like Dennis Boystov could prove themselves or embarrass themselves in that span. He's looked pretty good but had some time off for hand surgery.

It kind of sucks because most of those guys arent a whole lot younger than Wladimir. By the time he retires they'll also be at the tail end of their careers. If only they were all a couple years younger we would have quite the title mix to look forward to. I guess Boystov is the brightest young prospect ATM but we haven't seen an immense quantity of him yet. I say if Povetkin sticks around he enjoys a short title reign post Klitschko.

I think the HW division will be more competitive and more fun to watch. Most of the new east euro boxers are arround 6 foot 2, no big height differences like now.

I have no idea who would dominate the division though but we will see more slugfests like back in the 90's before lennox started to dominate

It's possible to say that without the Klitchko's and their 6'6" frames that most boxers don't get to reach. It's possible that light heavyweights like Chad Dawson would actually consider moving up to Heavyweight without it seeming pointless considering how undersized he would be when he fights for a championship. Not saying Chad would really do great, I'm just saying good slick fighters like him from the smaller weights. Most heavyweights today r either brawlers, or conventional boxers with little to nothing special to distinguish them. Imagine how it would be if it wasn't virtually pointless for Hopkins to fight at Heavyweight (a few years ago). Or even Calzaghe. The division would be interesting

dont expect this thread to have many replies. If the thread title doesn't mention Pac or mayweather it doesn't get attention because sad enough there aren't many boxing fans on this board. only *******s and *****s who will stop watching boxing after their fighters retire
