Loads of people always mention the Barrera lose like it defined his career, but nobody has won fights/world titles in the style of naseem hamed and managed to bring a lower division into the limelight like he did.
What made him exciting was the fact that he had so much power but was so vulnerable to be knocked out and yet he still managed to pretty much dominate the featherweight division. Its a shame how his career ended but it was the same ending as alot of great boxers have had, as they get older, have families and other comitments, they lose what initially made them hungry.

He could have ended it better (imagine him vs Pacquiao... the one-handed featherweight Pacquiao)

But even his most avid haters have to admit he was one of the most entertaining fighters of all time.

Also, Barrera's victory over Hamed has a flavor of Hatton over Tszyu... as in a little bit of rough-house tactics that.

Both fights, with a different referee, might have a very different outcome.
