Yeah, I think maybe in a couple of years if he matures and developes some real boxing skills, he could be a great fighter.
I think right now though, he's not ready.
A possibility:
Trying to teach a young boxer without the needed hands-on experience could result in a loss of otherwise applied natural instincts, that are crucial. Like always thinking / remembering what was learnt and the applications, resulting in the missing free-flow killer instinct.
1) Something we know ..... Vlad sleeps hard if he gets tagged flush.
2) Something we don't know .... can Peter take shots? Maybe he won't react too well if he's caught on the noggin'.
exactly. this fight is going to be all about how well Peter can take a punch. If his chin is solid, wlad is in alot of trouble. So many people are quick to critize peter, but dont bother to mention while doing so just how young and inexperienced the guy is. The sam peter we see today isnt necessairly the sam peter we'll be seeing in a few more yr's. Each and every fight that goes past 3 rds is a learning experience for him. With a knockout punch and MAYBE a good chin (we'll see in time) all that needs work is technique. He'll get that. If he can improve his defense and footwork, he'll be a threat in the heavy wt. division, if his chin holds up.

how do you know peter is going to get so much better? they said the same thing about michael grant. maybe he will,,,,maybe he wont. just because the guy is young and inexperienced doesnt mean he has the talent to get a lot better.

Yeah, that's true. However, as badly as Peter's boxing skills suck, anything would be a step in the right direction. Even if he started keeping his hands up more, that would help tremendously, whether his chin is bad or not. lol

I dont KNOW he'll improve, which is why I said "if he impoves defense, etc....". I do think it would be next to impossible for him to not improve with experience, or get worse. My point was if (IF, IF, IF) he does end up having a good chin, and IF he does train very hard and improve on the needed areas, he would be a serious threat. As for Michael Grant, that comparison is questionable since Grants main problem was motivation and self confidence. Peter seem's to have plenty of that, and him not having Teddy Atlas as a trainer (the way Grant did) can only help too.

Exactly..it's not like he's going to get worse where skill (learned skill) is concerned. I'd rather give him a chance to improve than just assume he's gonna stay right where he is, as in totally unaware of the term "defense".
sure, its very possible that peter will KO wlad. but saying he'll KO vitali is downright ******. as one-dimensional as he is, there is no way on heaven, earth, or hell that peter will KO vitali.
