You mean those guys who simultaneously dismiss any modern heavyweight yet act like the even ****tier '80s and '90s were golden eras are black? Or those guys who pop into every Manny thread with an avatar of Floyd Jr. in some Jesus pose making underhanded comments about Manny's fights being rigged to make Asian men feel masculine and he should go back to playing ping-pong? Then the same guys call you racist for bringing up how Floyd's entire family beats women? I would have never guessed race was a factor there.

I understand that in the US black emergence in boxing coincided with black emergence into first-world society and thus black champions became symbolic folk heroes. However, the people who oppressed American blacks haven't paid attention to boxing in half a century and you're aiming the hostility at Philipinos and Ukranians.

Even though a lot of MMA fans would never say it, part of the reason all other races are flocking to that sport is because being into boxing at times is like being Harold and Kumar and accidentally walking into a Jeremiah Wright sermon.

Not quite. Blacks dominate(d) US boxing for a relatively short span of boxing history because pretty much everyone else in the US had enough money to not be punched in the face for a living after the '50s. Since boxing was far less globalized back then and scouts really only looked around their own country for talent, there you have it, black domination.

When you walked into a serious urban boxing gym in the '80s it wasn't a bunch of white guys from Westside Story being shown how it's done by a single black alpha male. They were turning out black champions because 90% of the kids there in the first place were black.

Once gyms popped up in Mexico and South America blacks were pushed out of the lighter divisions by a new majority.

Now that gyms have popped up in the poorer regions of Asia that will continue. Manny isn't a fluke he's just one of the first p4p champions they've turned out.

When Communism ****d Eastern Europe, its inhabitants were suddenly looking at living conditions similar to US ******s. Within a short span of the USSR falling and professional boxing careers becoming available, they completely smashed the heavyweight division. I think we all know that if things weren't color-coded, we'd have Chris Byrd or someone sitting on a title beating up other Americans and he would be making his way into ATG lists.

A lot of the guys on boxing scene would have been the brotha instigating a riot when Maskaev clocked Rahman.

i don't know why black people should get a pass for saying ignorant bullshit.

floyd got off easy with his rant, and im sure this statement by Bernard "Not gonna let a white boy beat me" Hopkins would be brushed off by the media.

seriously, pacquiao has given a great boost to the sport, and has become a crossover star. now, these fools are playing the race card. ****ing sad.

I disagree with half of what U said!!In the case of the brothers Klithsco's,U can line up the top 20 heavyweights & without a doubt they beat them all!!Period, there's is truly no doubt about that!!

Now Pacman has been promoted exceptionally, but there are fighters at 154 & 147 that he can't beat, the thing there is that he won't fight them & he doesn't have to!!All this is disregarding race, because all aren't black!!

Bernard Hopkins can ***** all he wants, I would be mad if I was him too.

This being white **** is awesome, I wouldn't trade it for the world.

This all goes back to the fact that if Hopkins were white he would have lawyered up and his ******** would have never been violated by any convicts.

                    Good thread.

Some people like Hopkins are upset because their world has been shaken. Their belief in black athletic superiority has been proven to be wrong, just like Hitler's belief in Aryan superiority was proven wrong.

Hopkins, Mayweather, and others are jealous of the success of Pacquiao and the Klitschkos.

I stopped reading after i saw you talking about p4p fighters a hundred years ago. i pretty sure that term was coined less than fifty years ago. likely less than that.
