Is Bernard Hopkins a racist?

I disagree, Benard Hopkins is a very smart guy, he is one of the few fighters that can break down the technical aspect of the game.
I don't think Bernard is racist; his ploys although tasteless, do (did) sell fights. His drive is to get butts on seats...and will do it by any means.

Problem is, Bhop's not talking about technical aspects of the game here, and talks as if Pac never faced a black fighter, when clearly Pacquiao did. And what made matters worse is that race card ****.

Like you, I also think (for the time being) that Bhop's not racist, he's one of the smartest boxers who speaks the truth, but you gotta admit that what he said is as dumb as ****.

There's no colour supremacy in boxing, and I can't blame finger pointers if they say he's racist with those remarks.

I don't really mind that he thinks blacks are better at boxing. There are mental and physical differences between races that are scientifically there but we just don't talk about.

Then again Hopkins doesn't seem like a scientist and he comes from a culture where racism is the norm. Same with Floyd.

Lets face it if Hatton was recorded saying dog-eating midgets can't handle the power and endurance of a white man and he'd never lose to a brownie this question wouldn't need asking. Those guys get away with it because people either don't take them seriously or just feel sorry for them.

Exactly, Hopkins get's some criticism for it but it stops at that. If a white fighter said anything like that people would not say "it's a little bad of him but he's doing it to hype the fight". If a white fighter acted like Hopkins he would get totally trashed by the media, his promoter would probably drop him.

I like ole Bernie but yeah, he's a bit racist. You just can't deny it with some of the comments he makes.

The comment he made about Pac would have been fine but black fighters aren't the only slick fighters out there. Martinez is one of the slickest fighters in the game these days and he isn't black.
