I have noticed something over the years in Pac's career. I do not see any black american fighters in his list of opponents? In fact, other then Joshua Clottey an African and Hatton a Brit, I see nothing but asians and hispanics? I just find this intriguing? American black fighters are known for speed, slickness, etc....could that be why? Boxing is a sport that may not be dominated by american black fighters, but is rife with them at least. I mean could you say your soccer team was the best in the world without playing Brazil? Manny has 57 fights and has been fighting in America for 9 years and has not fought one black american? Doesn't anyone find that bizarre?
I mean over the years and recently....Zahir Raheem, Floyd M., Paul W., Shane M., Nate Campbell, Vivian Harris, Lamont Peterson, Timothy Bradley, Andre Berto...even Mike Jones....? All feasible opponents? Everyone is guilty of careful matchmaking at times but I do not see why Manny is above reproach? So now he wants to fight JMM at 147? Floyd took a beating in the press for fighting JMM at 145-147 but its ok for Manny? Manny is amazing and a great fighter but I just find it interesting how his camp can do no wrong and the double standard just because he is nice and humble.
I just think because someone is nice and humble peoples views of them get skewed. Floyds an arrogant loudmouth idiot, so that makes him less talented or lesser of a boxer? That makes HIM the ducker and matchmaker? In reality it does not. The matchmaking for Manny as of late has been questionable too lets be honest. Its pretty obvious Arum only wants him fighting Top Rank hispanic fighters it seems. I am just curious to see how well Manny does when he fights someone slick, fast and who does not stand in front of him plodding along as a human target. So basically a top black american fighter.
