I don't think a win against a slow Marg and a fake title would be something to be proud about IMO. This was merely a tune up fight, perhaps even a sparring session that included a cheap trinket. Why are people overrating this kind of achievement when Mosley already kicked the sh#t outta him?
Are people overrating Pac's win against Margarito?

Just enjoy the fact you're witnessing a great fighter in his prime and not care what other people think. -

It was a good win considering he recovered from that body shot. Alot of fighters would have gone down and not gotten up.
However let's get back to reality. Margarito was paying $5.00 at my book. Manny was paying $1.17. Manny was expected to whoop his ass. If he wasn't Margarito would have been paying $2.50.
He was also expected to whoop Cotto who was pating $4.50. Ditto Clottey who was paying in excess of $6.00.
So Manny's last 3 opponents were paying $4.50, $6.00 and $5.00 respectively. Those are long odds designed to entice punters to take up the underdog in the belief they are too wide.Comment

The thing is, Margs is a BIG guy compared to Pac. People can say he was drained or whatever but the guy fought his entire career pretty much at 147 and that's just the plain facts.I don't think a win against a slow Marg and a fake title would be something to be proud about IMO. Pac almost made Margs hit the canvas like 4 times in that fight. Margs has never been touched up like that, sure Shane knocked him out or whatever but he did not look half as bad as he did after the Pac match. This only confirms that Pac has power, speed, and can take a heck of a punch from a much bigger guy.
It was a very good win, people keep bringing up losses of his opponents but how many undefeated fighters did Floyd beat at the elite level? Maybe 2 or 3 out of all 41 of his victories so it's ridiculous to use that logic. Pac is a serious dude in the ring and at some point, people need to realize what they are seeing and appreciate it while it's here if you are a fan of boxing.
I really can't see anyone who can beat him right now, I don't care what style they bring to the ringComment

Not Just Margrito but Clottey, Hatton, Cotto, DLH and JMM fights he actually lost. All of these guys had already been beat before they fought PACMAN .
People treat PACMAN like he is ******ed or handicapped or something. When he beats someone that already has been beaten his fans or *******S start screaming ATG best ever bull****.
However when fighters without special needs beats the same fighters they are like so no big deal.
It's all over now Arum and Roach are fresh out of damaged goods for PACMAN to fight for fake titles.Last edited by shogun1123; 11-17-2010, 09:52 PM.Comment

You should know by now that Pac's performance is always going to be overrated and Mayweather's is going to be underrated. Anytime Pac fights one of his "damaged goods opponents" (Margarito, Cotto, Hatton, Clottey), boxing writers and the people on this board overrate his performance. These are all guys who have either been KO'd or badly beaten recently. These are all guys on the downslide, but you would think that Pac has just beaten King Kong the way they praise him. Now, Arum is talking about a fight with Mosley since Mosley got his ass whipped by Mayweather and looked poorly in his last fight. Typical Pac opponent.I don't think a win against a slow Marg and a fake title would be something to be proud about IMO.
