Fighting Your Mandatory (Chagaev)

It's true that Haye may have ducked the Klitschko's many times in the past but fighting your mandatory isn't an excuse, it's what is necessary. This belt is the only way he will fight a Klitschko anyway as it is the only thing that gives him any ground when asking for a 50/50 split.

If Haye does fight Chagaev instead of a Klitschko, it is fair to say he didn't duck them this time around in my opinion. Your thoughts?

nah, fuuck that. Haye would be fighting Klitschko for Klitschko's belt, not the other way around. On top of that Haye consistently states he's going to retire next year anyway so no point in defending and fighting mandatories if you're master plan is to fight the klitschko's then retire.

Chagaev is not allowed in the uk, all Haye will do is easily win the purse vbid, then the fight cannot be made and he will fight a sister

Although he has said many times that he will retire this year, I can't see this happening. And personally I think he needs a few more fights before a Klitschko anyway to increase his chances of winning.

But the belt isn't worthless, although Wlad already holds the majority of the belts, Vitali's stated that he wants the WBA belt so all the belts are in the family. So the belt does provide him with a foot to stand on in negotiations and IMO is the only way he'll get the split he's looking for (if he gets it at all).
