IF Floyd loses to Pac - I wouldn't think much less at all of him as a fighter.

This dude burned so many bridges its ridiculous. Floyd Mayweather is totally FU**D if he loses just once. Both Financially and his status as an ATG!
While most of you said sounds ridiculous, it's also unfortunately true. It's somethig I've said for a long time, once Mayweather loses (no matter how it goes) people will stick to that loss like white on rice and nobody he will not gain as much money as he usually does all of because that '0'. Zeroes are overrated, but when coupled with a huge winning streak, they bring in big numbers because people will tune to see if maybe, just maybe, that will be time where Mayweather loses, and nobody would miss it for the world.

I don't think his standing should be affected by losing to Pacquiao. He's considered the only one on Pacquiao's level (or is it the other way around?). Anyway, the point is, every time they fight they're flipped in rankings with everyone else a distant 3rd and 4th. They're in a class all by themselves and I don't see how either lose their places and pound for pound rankings unless it's a shocking blow-out like Toney-Jones, Jr. (#1 and #2 going at it and comes out one-sided).

In that case, yeah. Floyd would be shunned for life.

if he lose his legacy would be a big JOKE. he avoided a fight againt Mosley in welterweight a few years ago, avoided Margarito and Cotto. if he was to lose against Manny his ATG status would be in question. imagine his best win was from a 38 yrs old Mosley? damn what a bad resume! Cotto even beat the better version of Mosley.

        Agree?

Anyway, If they do fight, I think Pac takes it by KO - Just my opinion.
I guess that would depend partially on how BOTH perform in the ring. I'll withhold my judgment until AFTER i see the fight in its entirety.

Tell floyd that. He thinks his '0' is the most important thing.

If you lose fighting the best you still get the recognition u deserve.

          Look at Calzaghe.

I wouldn't either. No shame in losing to Pac. One of the best fighters of this era. Honestly, I don't think you can tell how great somebody is until they tested themselves to the fullest and lose and how they come back from that lost. All the greatest boxers that lived have lost. Will Floyd disappear into obscurity if he loses like Prince Naseem? Or will he come back and redeem himself and show everyone how really great he is?
