yes, sergio's style is not that easy to emulate... that and pdub doesn't really make key tactical adjustments anyway.
and Paul Williams fights the same every time, not a knock on him because it's a very difficult style to deal with, but the dude just doesn't switch it up.
It still would have been close. I would say that there's a possibility it the score wouldn't have looked as much like a robbery. But that's not really true. No matter what, the guy that loses a close fight will forever have gotten robbed. That's how the world thinks
how you see the rematch playing out? you think Williams will fight the same exact fight
honestly, i have no idea. probly make a few minor adjustments like watchout for martinez's right hook more, better conditioning but pdub's style emphasizes more on the awkwardness and amount of pressure he can dish. you can't really just improve his style without sacrificing the basic aspects which made him what he is right now.
i'm still rooting for pdub but i think the rematch leans more on how much martinez has improved/deteriorated not on pdub. pdub is like the constant of the equation, constant punches and virtually limitless stamina throughout the entire fight, it all falls on how martinez can cope up with it again.
Definitely. It's not like Williams fights differently depending on who he is fighting, he is going to move forward and he is going to throw lots of punches. I thought both fighters fought as well as they possibly could, and the style clash is just going to produce close fights between those two.
