Give Danny another go at this level

I wanted to know if Danny could compete at world level last night... and I still don't know. Vitali wouldn't let him work.

But I estimate 90% of the people who post about Danny (particularly those outside of England) have only seen him in his last two fights.

Consequently you'd have the impression of someone who has weight issues, isn't particularly talented but can **** a bit, and can take it. He also gets wobbled quite a lot.

Believe me, you don't know Danny. I'm not suggesting he could be top level (certainly not Vitali level as was painfully proved last night) but he could mix it up with 95% of the contenders out there. If it was the other Klit that he was fighting last night, what would have happened?

Bear in mind before you write the guy off as a "bum", the two fights for which he's most famous have been against two of the heaviest-hitting heavyweights of all time. And these have been his only two bouts at world-class level. Danny ain't no bum... he's been domestic level his career (and what's wrong with that?) and his very first two leaps up to the world arena have been against very highly regarded fighters. Short of taking on a Sherman tank, I can't think of anything braver than tackling Klistchko in only your SECOND world-class bout.

Do you really think Byrd, Brewster, Donald, etc. would rock Danny the way Tyson and Klitschko did?

I believe that James Toney would be too much for Danny, and yes, their back records aren't even comparable, but Toney's getting props at heavyweight for taking nine rounds to drop Holyfield. Danny would have destroyed Holyfield.

He'll never be first-rate, but he can compete... give him a chance.

i think he needs a new trainer..
the people supporting him aren't very professional.. they might do a good job in some things, but when they lash out at others it's not very contributing to their boxer..

I think DW has good strengths.. his chin, his heart
if you get the right trainers to get his speed, combos, and timing better, he definitely could stand somewhere in the top 10, but prolly not a champ.

I would love to see Danny take on Brewester, Byrd, Toney, Rahman, or Hugger.

Danny has got a huge heart and very good boxing skills (which could be seen in the Tyson fight).

I saw a fragment of the fight where Danny fought with one hand and won. I respect Danny very much.
