okay--i was hoping somebody posted this---think about it though---what year should he have fought tony? 07? 08?

had floyd fought cotto in 2007 and beat him, where would margarito be? remember, arum just threw tony at floyd coz cotto was his bigger star--made more money--bigger draw---he knew floyd was more than capable of ruining that---floyd realized this and knew arum was trying to play floyd out---making as much money off of his fighters as he could while they were drawing good and remaining unbeaten---think about it---would arum really have given tony to floyd in 08 had cotto lost to floyd in 07? just think about it for me alright? no arguments with ya brother--just let me know--

2006 is when he should've fought Tony. Over Baldomir, yes. Or Judah. He only needed to fight one.

Dude, why are you defending Floyd based on what he "could have" done? He "could have" fought Cotto then, but he didn't. He "could have" fought Marg then, be he didn't. He "could have" fought Pac then, but he didn't.

The latter half of Floyds career is all hypothetical.

          Oh, and --

            People.

Floyd turned down Margarito because Arum was locking him into a 3 fight deal with Cotto and Hatton as well and he didnt like the money for the Hatton and Cotto fight.

All I know is that Margarito in 2006 was the best WW.

                He just was...

Marg has a case arguably to being the best WW in the past decade.

... So he doesn't take the fight with Marg so that he can NOT take the fight with Cotto.

                  Good reasoning.

If that's the reason then fine, NC. My whole thing is, Margarito was clearly the biggest threat at 147. If there were financial reasons as to why he split - as there seems to be - then cool (I guess). It's just when people argue that Baldomir was better (or even CLOSE to touching Tony) or that he somehow deserved it because he stopped a washed up Gatti then I'm just scratching my head.

Hell the dumb ****s on this site said he ducked Spinks when he signed to fight Baldomir.
there's always countless ****** threads on nsb. you should know.

                      you can't please everyone.

                      in the end.........

a floyd win over margarito > a floyd win over baldomir

                      that's not even debatable.
