Purpose of weight class is that fighters have even playing field when it's time to fight. Also, that there are specific weight divisions for fighters to win titles at, the latest being 154 lbs.

If someone weighs 150 for a title fight at 154 that's his choice to weigh at (he is within weight limit 147 - 154), i have no problem with that.

But when someone calls himself a 154 lbs champion in a fight which was made at catch weight, i call that a BS title win.

Pacquiao won 154 lbs title at 150 lbs catch weight, he won't defend it against legit and proven 154 lbs fighters and he will be forever known as 8 division champion? That's like spitting in the face of fighters who actually won 154 lbs title at that weight class, not some BS catch weight just because they have the fame to make it.

Floyd's 154 lbs title win was way more legit than Pacman's. Floyd actually won it at 154 lbs clash against 154 lbs champion, unlike Pacman who took it at catch weight against fighter who's latest wins are very questionable due to the hand wraps and wasn't even ranked at 154.

Yeah, but it was a non title fight. There's a slight difference between a title fight and non title fight.

I like your post. So as long as it's a non-title fight, it's alright but if it is a titled fight (approved by the division/commission), the **** then hits the double-standard fans?

Sorry to disappoint you but roidy did not invent catchweight. Sorry to disappoint you still but the fight was OFFICIAL meaning the commission or whothehell/whatever "approved" it so if you want to change the world and wish for world peace, good luck and more power to you.

Title fights make you legend sometimes, make you a division champion, a best at that weight class. Non title fights are just that, non title fights that won't make you a legend or best at some weight class.

Money can approve anything, it still doesn't make it right. To be a junior middleweight champion fight at junior middleweight weight limit.

To me Pacman will always be a 6 division champion who beat some great fighters from bigger weight classes and that's it.

If you feel you are to small to fight at some weight class and be competitive, don't fight at that weight class.

I didn't know boxingscene is now the boxing commission's forum. What's your point of arguing your "correct" point of view here? Nobody really cares.

All I care is that it was approved by whoever and if you don't like it, that's your problem.

PS: Nobody cares if you think pac is just a 6 division champion. Who are you? Just a Nobody
