The reason why he wanted him fired was because Roach was making too much money and had a lot of say in Pac's career. He knows he would be making more money if Roach was gone and he would've more say in Pac's career without Roach being the trainer.

yes, aside from being assistant trainer which actually he also learned from manny, he serves earlier as interpreter which he still does nowadays but more on the purpose of having a familiar voice in the corner. if you notice in the previous fights youll hear buboys voice louder in the background giving instructions often in mannys dialect (visayan). poster above is right, buboy makes manny feels at home just like those people pacman brings in his fights, he even charters those private planes for. i can now imagine previous pinoy champions fighting in the US with only a handful of associates with them, how lonely they were during training and on actual fight nights. manny not only gets his strength from those huge calf, prolly from all those friends he brings when he fights.(btw that picture of buboy and i was shot days before training for marg begun)
