Floyd's counterpunching style is nothing like Morales' or Marquez.

Floyd's style of counterpunching, the Philly shell, is vulnerable to southpaw fighters. The Philly shell has Floyd's shoulders turned to his right almost perpendicular to his opponent, giving great protection against an opponent's right-hand blows at the expense of some vulnerability against the opponent's left-hand blows. Floyd has used his speed to make up for his left-hand vulnerability.

He will be a step slower adjusting the Philly to a southpaw, and that lost step will be his undoing. Zab Judah, a speedy southpaw, would have beaten Mayweather had he not gassed in the later rounds.

The style matchup actually favors Pacquiao.

Take a moment to review Floyd's career. He's looked the most awkward and had the most trouble against southpaws. Pacquiao will eat him up.

Not even including the pace that manny brings for 12 SOLID rounds that doesnt go away. I think that the exact style of manny is the PERFECT ingredient for beat PBF

    Thoughts?
    Great post.

    Floyd fears solid power.

You can't neutralize the kind of power Manny brings. It's muscle power. Based on contraction force. Not on leverage. Not on moving with the punches. Not on sheer mass. It's just what an elite athlete can do. Much like Prime RJJr. Crazy angles with lots of power, totally unorthodox.

    Plus Manny actually out-hustled Margarito.

The best offense vs the best defense.... hmmm but u know why Floyd loses? Age old saying, the best defense is a good offense and Pac has an awesome offense, so what has floyd got?

Floyd's defense and style in general (using speed to counter the guy into submission) relies totally on his speed. Thats all well and good when he's fighting slower fighters as he always is ... the one time he fought a guy with almost comparable speed (zab judah) he was caught quite a bit before taking control due to Judah's general ****tyness.

Bottom line is Floyd wins if and only if he is faster than the other guy, he knows this.

He also knows that Manny is faster than him and there in lies the reason why this fight has not happened.

Margarito had nothing,he had no speed he had no foot work he had trouble cutting off the ring and he had zero defense and his face speaks for it self lol

Manny Pacquiao use to receive lot's of beatings when he was in the lighter divisions he had many wars and the last two wars with JMM he had many felt that he lost both.

So what he did was actually a smart move, move up in weight and fight those chumps at catch weight.

Freddy roach himself said that they are shot, damaged goods, couldn't pull the trigger anymore so he knows how to pick slow weight drained fighters while pacquiao would come in fresh and the most important thing is he didn't have to watch his weight when he was training which every and each of his opponents had to do.

Comparing margarito to floyd really show how much you understand of the sport of boxing lol

Let me say it again and if you watched the fight you can't argue with this..margarito had no speed,no defense,no footwork and no punching power..he looked so slow and sloppy it was a total joke.

Floyd beats pac in every department, speed, jab, defense, footwork and he hasn't received much beating..just look at pacquiao in every fight he gets smashed why? because he has no defense..if a shot weight drained fighter could do that to him imagine what the p4p would do to him lol
Where's the power department? Stamina? Work rate? BALLS? His iron chin is his defense ******!!! If he feels the need and decides to dodge (DLH fight) he will. But why bother when you can manage to take their best shots? Remember, Pac is not a runner like Floyd!

Man, I don't think May can beat Pacman anymore. He's just to awkward for anyone, even with May defense. May isn't going to last more than 8 rounds, he will get hit with combinations and the speed will be a real problem. Pacquiao will beat May at this point, especially now May will be even more rusty, sorry guys Pacman takes it. Mark my words.

If it does happen, Pac would make sure that he will train harder. You know, things are overrated sometimes.

But that's the thing. Floyd's chances of being beaten would double.

Pac would kill Floyd in the ring. I think Floyd would guys like Maliggnagi or Matthew Hatton.. Its not even funny Floyd would let himself go to jail.

As what Roach said, Floyd should leave the country. A total embarrasment

I believe Floyd is already a beaten man in his mind dude. The way he has been avoiding Pacquiao tells me something isn't right, he won't feel comfortable in the ring with Pacquiao. Floyd often starts a little shaky in the first couple of rounds, this is something you can't do against Pacquiao. I'm telling you, I wouldn't be surprised if the fight went less than 6 rounds maybe, due to Floyd being nervous and starting slow. If he can manage to get past the 6 round mark, he might be able to bring Pacquiao into his fight but I dunno..
