I understand where haye is coming from in regards to his position on keeping all of the money from the UK. Wouldn't you want you family to be taken care of, if you knew you was going to get killed by stepping in the ring with a Klitschko.
wladimir dominates his division, is "financially secure" to say the very least and could easily replace haye with any number of opponents and everyone outside of the UK would forget haye exists (if they ever noticed he did in the first place)
haye on the other hand has these options:
1. take whatever wladimir offers you
2. rematch with audley harrison then megafight with tyson fury
3. retire
he has obviously stated both in words and in actions that he doesnt plan to stick around for another decade fighting top-ten guys.. he never aspired to be "great" or even "legitimate" just to cash in on easy wins then rake in the jackpot being exterminated by wlad
haye is the one with nowhere to go. Take Wlad's extremely generous terms or retire.
Vitali was clearly winning the fight 4-2 on all 3 scorecards at the time of the controversial doctor stoppage. Lewis was badly hurt and was staggering around the ring like a drunk, he barely survived the 2nd round. Lewis was getting outboxed, outworked, outlanded and was hurt several times in the fight.
punches landed
Vitali 156
Lewis 102
Lewis was exhausted, worn down and hurt from the accumulation of punches and was ready to get KTFO again, he collapsed onto his stool at the end of the 6th round, Vitali was the fresher of the two, he was a man on a mission and would've KO'd Lewis for sure if the fight had continued.
All the fans at Staples Center cheered for Vitali and booed Lewis after the fight.
Lewis promised Vitali a rematch.
Vitali destroyed Kirk Johnson in 2 rounds and called out Lewis again in the post fight interview. The scared Lewis retired shortly after that fight.
Lewis turned down 30 million dollars for a rematch and retired like a coward because he knew he would get destroyed by Vitali.
Vitali dominated Lewis and scared his bitch ass into retirement.
George Foreman: "Vitali was winning the fight. Lewis got lucky. There has to be a rematch!"
Jim Lampley: "A lucky escape for Lewis who was clearly losing the fight"
Even Emanuel Steward was upset and pissed off at Lewis for blatantly ducking a Vitali rematch.
nice to see that Lennox has come out and said what the more discerning of us have been saying for a while.
Haye is not too dissimilar to Pacquiao. That combination of speed and power can **** up anyone. The Klitschko's are very impressive animals, but they are not exempt from this. Fortunately for Wladimir he'll get knocked the **** out early, but Vitali is going to get a slow prolonged beating at the hands of the Hayemaker. It's going to be difficult to watch, I really like big Vit, he's one of the true warriors of the sport.

Irony?
Yes, Haye has the speed and the pop to hurt Wlad and maybe (although I don't think he really can if Lewis was not able to do this) Vitali. The problem is that both Ks have more than enough power to flatten Haye and both use their reach advantage (although both have different game plans and a different set of skills) better than anyone else. Haye won't win against any of the brothers. Vitali would murder Haye tbh - Haye would've to retire afterwards...
