I would say it is tough to draw that conclusion because who has manny beat that even remotely resembles Floyd.

Not to say it is impossible but beating Floyd is a completely different task than what Manny has been doing.

Joshua Clottey fought similar to Floyd... Floyd won't fight Pacquiao with the shoulder roll, anybody who knows boxing and Floyd knows this..Floyd will come with his hands high and try to potshot... Only real difference is head movement and athleticsm, which is a big difference at that.

Still, Pacquiao simply outworks Floyd, it's clear as day.

Floyd is essentially becoming a novelty character whereas Manny continues to fight. This may be the biggest difference between them; Floyd does his talking through the press and Manny in the ring. I'm speaking here of activity, of course.

It's almost as if Floyd is becoming a mythological figure with more hype than bite while Manny continues to rack up accomplishments.

Don't get me wrong, Floyd is a considerable challenge and it would be a great match up from a competitive standpoint. As it stands, Manny is well above his competition. Floyd would be a big challenge, and it wouldn't be a challenge born of size difference (as was Marg.). I'm sick of holding my breath for this match, but if it can be made it would be great for the state of affairs in boxing. As of this moment, I'd lean toward Manny.

The way to beat Floyd is to stick and move. Think Amir Khan, Oscar De La Hoya (the one that fought Shane), that Amateur boxing style that involves lots of jabs, and maybe a quick combination, combined with quick footwork is what it takes to beat a counter puncher like Floyd. Today, Manny showed where he was at when it came to footwork, almost perfect. And if Roach was right about Floyd's legs being gone, that would almost seal the deal. Now Manny's boxing skills were limited and (despite what u may think after what he did to the slow, looping, shots of Margarito as he slowly prodded foreword) he's not a counter puncher. But he's without a doubt fast. And I also noticed that Manny has that "u hit me, I'm hitting u back" mentality. That could certainly play into the counter puncher's hands, but Manny's a little faster than most people that do that, and he's more far more dangerous. Floyd would have to hit him, than (for lack of a better word) run.

Simply put, Floyd has to show a dimension he hasn't yet. He could totally do that in a fight against Martinez. I need to see this fight, or something like it to determine who to pick.
