As I have been labeled this many times in NSB, I just wanted to clear a couple things up. Floyd Mayweather Jr. is an all time great fighter. Manny Pacquiao is an all time great fighter whom until tonight I placed slightly below Floyd due to the losses/KOs.
Manny beat the s*** out of Margarito tonight. I expected Manny to win but I actually bet on Tony because I got +400. I also took Dwyer's advice and straddled with the "over" prop since it was better than even money.
I will hold true to my beliefs that Floyd Mayweather is the best TECHNICAL fighter. I will also say that I now believe Floyd vs Manny WOULD be close and I'm only slightly leaning towards Floyd, mainly due to his countering skills.
I might catch a lot of scrutiny because I would now say Manny has to be in the top 5 P4P GOATS, with Floyd lingering somewhere between 10-20 (AT THIS POINT).
Finally: Although Manny looked super in the fight tonight winning virtually every round, A closer look will reveal flaws that could potentially be exploited. Manny got hit a lot tonight and he found himself against the ropes a couple too many times in my opinion. As of today's date: 11/14/10, Manny Pacquiao is the best P4P AND WW/JMW on the planet and I expect him to stay that way. The MAIN person I see that conceivably dethrone Manny is PBF. But from what I hear, PBF MAY POSSIBLY be headlining fights from prison before too long.
The Other 2: Sergio Martinez- While I do not believe Manny will fight anybody bigger than Margarito, Sergio possesses the style to give Manny problems. The only thing that I wonder about in this fight is the southpaw vs southpaw matchup. Sergio Martinez and Floyd Mayweather are about the best ring technicians IMO. It will take somebody with a very high boxing IQ to beat Manny. My final opponent, yet another southpaw, wait for it......Paul "The Volume Puncher" Williams. I think that nickname fits him better. Honestly I think Manny would tie Paul in knots and have a field day with him. So Floyd and Sergio I believe are the only logical opponents for Manny to face that would present major problems.
