At Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas, lightweight contender Brandon Rios (26-0-1, 19 KOs), Oxnard, Calif. stopped Omri Lowther (14-3, 10 KOs) in the fifth round of their bout, which took place at the junior welterweight level. Rios' fight replaced an injured Kelly Pavlik on the pay-per-view portion of the show on the Manny Pacquiao-Antonio Margarito card. Rios was too strong for Lowther from the opening bell. He dominated the action and hurt Lowther several times. It appeared that after four rounds, Lowther's corber was going to stop the fight, but they allowed him to continue. Rios started punishing Lowther against the ropes and the ref finally stopped the fight.
