Why is everyone fretting about a 15-20lb weight difference?

Look at the heavyweights, there is an even bigger size difference there. Joe Frazier knocked out Buster Mathis who weighed 43lbs more, Floyd Patterson knocked out fighters 20lb more than him.

15-20lbs is negotiable, it is definitely not too much.

The difference between Haye and Valuev was akin to Pacquiao fighting a cruiserweight. He'll be fine.

It has to be looked at like a sliding scale. Difference between two heavyweight who weigh 230 and 250 isnt even close to 140 and 160.

Outside of the HW division it just doesn't happen very often. Your example shows it.

            David Haye: 217 lbs.
            Nikolay Valuev: 316 lbs.

Haye is a pussy. Pacquiao is God.

            Gotta love the Scene.

Prior to Haye-Valuev 47 year old Holyfield gave the blueprint how to easily outbox Valuev. Only ******s tought Haye would have a problem beating Valuev after the Holyfield fight......

In the heavy weight, wether your a 200 pounder or a 240 pounder. Your punch is already heavy. If you get hit by a 200 or a 240 it is still a big heavy punch.

In the lower weights it becomes significant coz the lower the weight the lower the strength of the punch. Thus it ain't as heavy and has less power.. So as you go up in division the power follows. But when your in the heavy weight all punches are heavy already wether your a 200 or 240lbs.

So it just means it's more significant at the lower weight coz there power to knock out goes down as the weight division is lower. power is relative in weight but if you reach the heavy weight, there is power wether your a 200pounder or a 240 pounder. a feather weight power is so different with a light weight power and so forth.
