    Santos seeking new opponent!

WBO jr middleweight champion Daniel Santos expressed disappointment today over the news that Jose Rivera has pulled out of their September 3 fight in Cleveland due to an elbow injury. Santos called Rivera's injury "a shame" because he was training for a fighter with Rivera's style for three months. A new opponent is being sought. Santos said if he could choose any opponent, it would be Winky Wright.

Rivera is scheduled undergo surgery on his left elbow next week and be out of action for two months. The surgery will be performed by Dr. Bill Morgan, a former team physician for the Boston Red Sox.

Hopefuly he doesnt get to pick his oponnent than, and maybe settles for Ouma(who after getting dominated is stll ahead of Santos i the rankings) or the guy who beat him...maybe Oscar De La Hoya?

There is such little time to prep for a fight like this, no way he gets anyone with any kind of name value.

He should fight someone barely ranked in the top 15, or since this is an emergency, maybe the WBO will let him fight a Cleveland guy with a decent record...

I heard that Jantuah might be an option for him.

If Santos wins this fight (w/unamed), you think he will fight somebody with a name?

Also, anybody know if this fight will be televised?

santos is a *****, jantuah offered him a chance at revenge and he has already turned him down. who cares if it wont mean anything to beat him which is untrue. but say it didnt its not like hes gonna get a better opponent than that on short notice and sure as hell not like hes gonna make a lot more if anymore at all with someone else i mean hes daniel santos? who the **** cares about this guy. im so glad that rivera *** pulled out of yet another fight with a person who would have beaten him, hes got to be one of the best duckers ever. he pulled out with vargas back in 99, if he wouldnt have we wouldnt be hearing about him now thats for sure. he lost to ****ING PAT CAT COLEMAN!!!! is that not all anyone needs to know about this ******. he also pulled out of fights with mayorga and judah in the span of 2 weeks, and now santos. this guy is a joke. anyway they need to show the braithwaite and tim austin fight on this card instead of santos or beck-lying*** or whatever his damn name is. now this would be a possibility but i wouldnt be shocked if ouma took the santos fight on short notcie specially with him just losing and knowing how hard it will be to get back to the top, he might take it but then again what am i saying santos has to agree also to fight him and he ducked jantuah already so he definitely wont fight the guy that embarrassed jantuah in ouma. maybe we will all get lucky and beck or lying*** will get injured to and santos so both fights are called off so therefore king puts braithwaite and austin on TV instead cause they sure as hell deserve it more than these ****.

Where did Santos turn it down? I just read on boxing talk that he offered to be a replacement yesterday...
