He's doing one of two things:

1. He is trying to legitimize the fight by coming in light.

2. He is setting up a fight at 140 next.

There's no other explanation. He weighed 146 or 147 at the Clottey weigh in, so 144 is crazy.

3. Fixed scale in order to make fight more interesting and boost up sales. The scale did look like it was bought at Wal Mart.

Neither one of these are right. Damn you people read way too much into things. There is no conspiracy theory here. Sometimes the answer is just as simple as it looks. The dude came in closer to 145 than 144 so he's almost exactly where he was for the de la hoya fight. He wanted to make sure he had his speed. Simple as that.

Could well be.

No one knows why, except Pacquiao wanted to retain speed and that's prolly acceptable, but still a huge disadvantage.

On the business side of things, like I said in the other threads, this is compelling stuff and people will buy it.
