Promoter Gary Shaw has stated that Floyd Mayweather's camp has nixed a $9 million offer to fight Winky Wright. According to Shaw, his final offer was for Mayweather to pocket $9 million while Wright earns $6 million. However, Shaw said Mayweather's promoter Bob Arym insisted on $12 million. "This is a fight that could have been made," Shaw told the Tampa Tribune. "He Mayweather is talking about fighting Zab Judah, but they will get less money to fight him. Zab is represented by Don King and I know I'm easier to deal with because my ego is not as big as theirs, King and Arum. Judah will want more money because he has all the belts." Wright has an HBO date on December 10.
Shaw also told the Trib that he's hoping to have a signed contract this week for Jeff Lacy vs Joe Calzaghe from promoter Frank Warren this week.
