Comments Thread For: Sergio Martinez at 166-pounds at Seven-Day Weigh-in

BoxingScene.com was advised that WBC middleweight champion Sergio Martinez was 166-pounds for the required seven day weigh-in. Martinez defends his title in a very anticipated rematch with Paul Williams on November 20 at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City. The catch-weight is 158-pounds. Thirty days ago, Martinez weighed 176-pounds and that figure made more than a few people shake their heads because Williams was already closer to their contract weight. He came in at 162. The assumption, while not confirmed, has been that Martinez started camp very heavy.

Martinez will get punished. He wont be " sexy " anymore once Paul is done with him.

Why is this fight at a catchweight again? Wasn't the 1st fight at 160? But damn, Martinez is gonna have one hell of a week getting down to 158 healthy.

Is this a normal weight 7 days before a fight? I think he is a bit overweight.
