Yeah fans do think lots of crap , fighters trainers and people inside the sport know that a few pounds under your threshold will hurt you badly .

these guys are pros. they know how to dehydrate and cut weight.
Somebody who understands the concept of water weight and how people can rehydrate... a rarity on these boards.

i find it funny that so called knowlegable boxing fans are making an issue about marg being 154 a week before the weigh in and wondering how he's gonna make 150.

man ,what these boxers do is nothing.

i had a high school friend who was all city.

he would walk around at 140 or so and he wrestled at like 101 and before that 93.

Jones, Byrd, and DLH all made weight initially. Didn't stop them from being weight drained. Actually DLH came in one pound less than Pacquiao at the weigh in.

Sigh... you clearly don't know much about boxing if all you can say is is "why are they doing it then". If you knew that fighters can cut like 15 pounds in water weight and rehydrate at a pound per hour then you would understand. There is 30 hours to rehydrate.

How do you know this? Seems like Tony is down to his last now, cutting more? For sure Tony needs to cut muscle to make 150, it's common sense.

                    1. comparing a guy who just fought at 154 and going down to 150 to guys who fought at 200-220 and go down to 175 is just ridiculous. you shouldn't even bother.

byrd was a career heavyweight and then he tried to go to 175. roy jones bulked up to 190-200.

not exactly the same as a margarito who is a career 147 guy who fought 154 after a year and half layoff and now going down 4 lbs.

                    2. delahoya wasn't weightdrained. he was overdieted , underweight , overtrained......whatever.....he wasn't weightdrained. he was supposedly at 150 weeks before the fight.

                      how do i know this?

because 99.99999999999999999999999999% of the time in boxing people are cutting water weight.

you think going in a sauna and not drinking water is cutting muscle?
