Comments Thread For: Chagaev: Haye-Harrison is 50-50, I'll Beat Them Both

Tomorrow night in Manchester, England, the Battle of Britain takes place between WBA heavyweight world champion David Haye (24-1, 22KOs) and challenger Audley Harrison (27-4, 20KOs). The next opponent for the winner is the mandatory challenger Ruslan Chagaev (26-1-1, 16KOs) - as proposed in a Spring 2010 decision by the World Boxing Association (WBA). Chagaev talks about the fight.

Haye will defeat Audley then fight Ruslan to avoid a Klitschko bout. "Mandatory Challenger" will be a good excuse for Booth & co.

I would favour Ruslan to beat Haye.

Fighting your mandatory is a requirement not an excuse.

I think this would be a good fight for Haye though (if he beats Audley). It'll be good for him to get more experience in the heavyweight division before (and if) he fights a Klitschko. It was a ****** idea to jump in the deep end straight away and look for a fight with Klitschko because now he's done that he's got to put up or shut up; and he's not doing anything to try and get them in the ring it seems.

Nobody wants to see it though. They can pay Ruslan step aside money.

I'd have Chagaev as favourite, he's a decent operator, is a proven legitimate fighter at HW.

Perhaps he'll coax Danny Williams out of retirement, or fight Michael Sprott.

Martin Rogan (who beat Audley) would be too dangerous for him.
              Danny Williams?

C'mon mate. That's even too low for Haye.

Haye should pay Ruslan step aside money and get a fight signed with Wladimir.

Chagaev seldomly talks and certainly walks the walk.

He'll never beat a Klitchko, but against Haye I give him a good chance.

Hep B is actually common, 1/3 of the people on earth get it sometime in their lives. Akinwande had it, most boxers are vaccinated. Anybody as promiscuous as Haye probably has it anyway.
Do you think if Hopkins beats Pascal, a potential fight with Haye is possible?

You have to be vaccinated against Hep B in order to get a BBBofC license
