Arumdid not want Pac fight Floyd [Proof]

    watch from 2:20

Because it will disappoint the fans.. Boxing is already dying as it is and it's the last thing they need is the most anticipated to be a boring fight

When will people let this **** die, the fight's never going to happen.

Arum had a solid point though "Mayweather conned the fans" during the DLH-Floyd buildup. I remember how hyped people were, especially people who had never seen an actual boxing match- I'm talking guys who thought Mike Tyson was the undisputed GOAT only because they saw youtube clips of him- and they were drawn in by the hype, Oscar's status as the biggest draw in the sport, Floyd's ****-talking, 24/7 debuting, etc. Millions of casual fans who could've turned into a new fan base were let down by another boring, cautious Mayweather fight.

EVERYONE I heard from after the fight said the fight was 'boring', 'bull****', etc and that was the overall sentiment. From then on, all the sports writers in the country got on that 'boxing is dead' tip and coincidentally MMA started to get the upperhand in Combat Sports viewership/excitement and there was a lull until Pacquiao-DLH happened and a new megastar was born.

Manny is single-handedly carrying the sport right now and is exposing Boxing to the mainstream... but that's only a good thing in the short term because he only has a few fights left before he rides off into the sunset. So the promotional companies, sanctioning bodies, cable distributors, advertisers, etc need to have a summit and figure out ways to end the *********** in the sport, make it a more viable product that doesn't rely on one super-hyped fight that may turn fans off and let them down to save a 'dead' sport.

My suggestion is make one international governing commission, get rid of the alphabet titles/organizations, have HBO/Showtime end contracts with fighters who duck/are reluctant to take on fights fans want to see, get Boxing shows back on network TV like the old days.

              Just a few suggestions.

And Pacquiao-Clottey was an exciting fight.

Had me on the edge of my seat, yes. The part where Lampley screams ****! was the best part of the fight. FOTY.
