I think there is a strong possibility that this was planned; by who I'm not sure. The timing is too perfectly coincidental with the fight (fight week) and the video has got people emotionally involved about a fight that many didn't care at all before. Like others have said, it has got the fight on major news networks.
There is footage from that same interview session that was released weeks ago. The release of this specific footage was definitely saved for fight week. Also, it's strange how the original video was uploaded, taken down and replaced by an edited version, but then aired again by several different websites.
