When they showed that clip to Tyson Haye looked so exposed he wasnt moving his head and he was there to be hit.

Ruiz had him backing up. Haye isn't hard to hit, he's a slick mover, relies on reflexes but that's it. A decent operator at HW i.e. Adamek, Solis, Povetkin, would really test Haye. I don't see him getting past Adamek, he can box.

Ruiz technically knocked David Haye down but the ropes saved him.

To be fair, he missed most of his sparring with a hand/shoulder injury and probably didn't take the fight as seriously as he should. But yeah, Haye isn't defensively sound by any means. Mormeck seriously exposed Haye's lack of defensive nous more than Ruiz ever did.

Yeah Mormeck was landing a lot of lead right hands on Haye, and also put him down with the punch to the temple.

ofcourse his defense is flawed....adam booth isnt a real trainer..

haye has been saving expenses by promoting himself and having his manager and close friend train him...

their training methods for taller fighters are laughable...

if haye had someone like freddy roach he'd fulfill his potential

It is a part of his fighting style to be fair, I think with a lot of fighters they can always be better defensively, but I remember haye being questioned about it before and he said it presents counter opportunities for him, like dangling a carrot in front of his opponent. It creates opportunities, from what I can see he likes fighters to commit to punches and thats when he fires the right hand and they don't always see it coming because of the speed. His fighting style reminds me a little bit of naz in that way they are both vulnerable, low workrate, every punch apart from the jab is meant to hurt you, and he prefers his opponent to throw first, and preferably in combination. He can be outworked and outboxed...if you can take his punch, because at certain points in the fight his power will land.
