Thoughts on the Heavy Weight Division - It's not as bad as most perceive it.

There have been many-many posts on how the HW division sucks!
Well, I agree to an extent, but mainly have to disagree and here is why:
IMO the reason most dislike the HW division at the moment is because all the veterans and the names that brought excitement are GONE (Lewis, Tyson-as he once was, Holyfiled-fights, or not, he's been gone for a while, Moorer - same as Holyfiled)
And the veterans who are still around (That is if you want to call Ruiz, Bowe, Tua, Galota, McCall, Briggs, etc - veterans) they all suck!

It's all new blood now (Klitschko(s), Brewster, Toney as a HW, Brock, Peter, Valuev, etc)
The division will get back on track as soon as smoke will begin to clear and the Brewsters, the Brocks and the Peters, etc will step up to the competition and dethrone the garbage champs that are out there (Ruiz, Byrd)...

The only person to blame for the downfall of the HW division is DON KING!
He overprotects his belts and his pocket... has Byrd, Ruiz fight once a year against garbage opposition and still manages to buy their decisions! Pathetic!!!
I also blame DK for Vitali's inactivity. I highly believe that it was Vitali's resistance as he was playing mind games with D. King for not giving his brother a title shoot at Byrd. In response, Vitali didn't want to put money into Kin’s pocket by giving any of King's fighters a shot at his WBC belt. As King controls like 70% (obviously inaccurate #, just an estimate) of top HW's, Vitali was calling out garbage opposition to stay away from King.

I disagree that the division sucks; it's just a matter of getting used to the new names...
There is a lot of talent and it's just a matter of time.

And just to prove my point, see how all these "veterans" are against the "new blood" There is a reason they suck!

The reason for PPV failures is the fault of the networks and promoters! People are not willing to pay $ to see prospects! Who the hell would pay to see an interim title fight?

And this is exactly what I said above.
As I said to you before, just agree and STFU!

    You're an idiot.

    It sucks, plain and simple.

There's a lack of talent and star power at the moment.

They guys that are "on top" are all guilty of fighting poor opposition and being inactive.

There's a serious lack of exciting young prospects.

There hasn't been a profitable PPV in years.

The Heavyweight division is in transition, and won't be any better until a few years from now when (hopefully) a crop of new fighters arises.

i agree with you on some points. i know for a fact there are many prospects coming to help the division out. i think we should name some to help people understand this. i think the heavyweight division has for the most part, taken it's biggest hits and i think now it can only go upward.

        I agree,

I don't think it can get any worst. It's only to improve from now on

Even if you combine the talents of the current champs and prospects, they'll still have nothing on the heavyweights from the previous era.

Most people say that the heavyweight division sucks because theres no dominant champion and that the top ten fighters are about equal.

I wouldnt classify any of these fighters as great with the exception of Toney but he's too small.

Therefore I feel as the heavy weight division is the marquee boxing division, it sucks!

                    That's because they are new!

Give 'em time and a chance.. I'm sure someone will emerge as a dominant force!

For now it's Vitali Klitschko.. no one knows what the future holds.. perhaps Brewster...
