Closest recent fighter to a pure boxer around Pacquiao's current weight that I can think of other than Floyd Mayweather is Joan Guzman and prime Cory Spinks. But Spinks has never been in the same weight class as Pacquiao and now he's shot. Guzman-Pacquiao never happened in the lower weights I guess because Guzman was a high risk low reward fighter who presented too many problems to that version of Pacquiao who only wanted to fight "in wars". Guzman was is a slick defensive pure boxer who would have been a completely different style that Pacquiao has never seen before, he was use to the same brawling style. Guzman also made Soto look like an average fighter[which he is imo] and that didn't do Guzman any favors.
