Trainers Felix Trinidad Sr. and Jose Bonilla predict a very bright future for WBO featherweight champion Juan Manuel Lopez. He was impressed with Juanma's big knockout win over Rafael Marquez from last Saturday at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Trinidad Sr. says the time has come for Juanma to only accept the big fights.

This is a 50/50 fight. First one to land a big punch wins. This could be a rocky/apolo creed double KO, first one to get up of the canvas wins.

Both are chinny, have power, speed and bad defence.

this puerto rican journalist that visits a spanish forum says that the plan might change to fighting marquez in new york in june because showtime really wants the fight and then gamboa in late 2011. he said thats the main option that team juanma told him about, but he also stated that hbo might jump in and try to make another fight like juanma vs gamboa i really hope thats not tru and they just stick to the plan

So basically Trinidad Sr is praising Lopez as the next big
thing and can handle Gamboa but thinks he should wait
to fight Caballerobecause the fight is too dangerous for
him at this point in his career and it doesn't make sense
financially? Hold up Sr. Is he ready or not? I personally
think being that Gamboa was always the bigger fighter,
accompanied by his speed and power he could potential
beat Lopez. I know Gamboa fights with his defense open
but after the Marquez fight, who really thinks Lopez has
enough power to put Gamboa out if Marquez put up a
valiant fight? Anyting can happen in a fight but not
feeling Trinidad Sr. telling Lopez to stay away from
                Caballero.

I don't think Lopez has the power to stop Gamboa but
Gamboa may be able to stop Lopez.

The speed differential is too much for Gamboa to be made to order tor Juanma. He exchanges with Gamboa the way he does other guys and he'll get the worst of it.

He widens up, squares up, leaves his hands down in exhcnages. It's a bad habit that a guy like Gamboa will take advantage of. Keep in mind Gamboa does these things too, but he's so much faster.

I just see Gamboa realising this and working in his looping right hand or counter left hook. Most likely the right hand. If Mtagwa can get his right hand in on exhcanges, then...yeah.
