You heard it hear first europeans do not really like boxing it is below handball, fact given by DUDE
The times I disagree I do it for the sake of the truth.

I'd love it if boxing was our 2nd most popular sport after soccer. Problem is: it isn't. You just talked **** again.

Soccer is not nearly as good as boxing. Kicking a damn ball around.

Well, if you could convince a few hundred million of people with that post it might have a certain sense. Can you?

Its a cheap sport. Ball.... sticks.

It cant be the world's sport when the most powerful country wants no part of it at all. I have over 600 channels and not one carries soccer.

Problem is that is the problem with boxing now adays! I will admit to you the sad truth! I live in america and I have been to europe! and I have heard more europeans talk about the next boxing match with ricky hatton and manny pacquiao and I have never went into a cofee shop in america and hear about boxing! The couple times I hear people talk of boxing is at my work because I bring it up or at school again cause I bring it up haha.

But that is the sad truth boxing is slowly diminishing as a sport the fans are few, and if it is really that low in europe then it must be that much lower in america.

Yes! Boxing is not a mainstream sport here.

But then again, I dont think one popular boxer makes it a mainstream sport there either.

Nah, you have to realize that Handball is a lot bigger in Europe than it is in the States.

But you know, I don't know too many boxing fans around. And I live in one of the largest cities in Germany. My friends don't care about the sport. And after I've once forced a good friend to watch Hagler-Mugabi I've learnt my lessen and wont do it again. In fact I don't know one single person in my family or of my friends (and I know quite a lot of people) that really care about boxing.

You don't get to see most of the PPVs over here. That tells you a lot. Some of the freeTV bouts (like all of Valuevs fights) have some decent audience ratings but that's it.

                  Sad but true.

Europe is probably different. I'm not going to dispute that. Europe has always been more about soccer than any other sport. It's too bad though. I'm just glad I don't live over there, because then I wouldn't be able to see the Cowboys play on Sunday. That's a REAL sport.

Baseball and basketball market themselves as wholesome family entertainment. I take my son to the ballgame but not to the fights (In fact, the casino here won't let minors into the fights). When I go to the baseball game with my son I feel like a good father. When I go to the casino without my family to watch boxing I feel kind of selfish. I think that the fact that boxing is not family friendly accounts for its low popularity.
