Sure it's an insult to a Mexican if you are from a Central Mexican state like Sinaloa where most of the people are of Spanish ancestry and have blonde hair and blue eyes. My family is from North Mexico where the majority of people are of indian ancestry so no it's not that cut and dry and no I don't find it insulting becasue thats what I am.
