Comments Thread For: David Lemieux vs Marco Antonio Rubio Fight Update

BoxingScene.com/Netboxe.com met earlier today with promoter Yvon Michel to get an update on the forthcoming presentation of a final eliminator between current WBC International champion David Lemieux (24-0 -0) and Mexico's Marco Antonio Rubio (48-5-1), and obtain some info on a few other topics. Remember that this eliminator was sanctioned last week during the annual convention of the WBC in Cancun, Mexico.

    Good Test

Rubio is a solid contender. He gave Pavlik a decent go (e.g., pre-paw injury and pre-supposed heavy booze Pavlik), won a close SD against Enrique Ornelas, and has some wins against some decent opponents.

It will be interesting to see how Lemieux handles him in comparison to Pavlik and Ornelas.

This will be a good test, I like the way they are stepping him up. If he does well maybe in 3 or 4 fights he can get a shot at a belt.

Yeah they seem to be accelerating his level of opposition now. They really have no choice because of the way he is just steamrolling everyone.

          Perfect fight for Lemieux.

I really like the way his team is going about his career.
