To legislate for something, in this context, means to strategize or plan for it.

      You're welcome, happy to help.

You need to use straight punches to Margarito and you need to smother him like Mosley and Williams did.

Did any of you guys saw Williams or Mosley hit Margarito with uppercuts? I didn't. I saw them smothering him and throwing straight punches, not letting him get in rhythm. They/and their trainers knew what was up. Would be a mistake to have an "uppercut" as some sort of special weapon here against Margarito.
the uppercut was the punch that ****ed cotto up on the second knockdown...

I'm pretty sure legislate means to pass a law

Williams slapped Margarito with uppercuts mid combination plenty of times, and Shane knocked him with a perfectly timed one at least once altho he had too much success landing over hand rights to switch it up, plus he set up the straight left that led to the KD with a massive uppercut that missed. In fact Manny's the one that tends to throw his power punches straight n down the middle, Mosley n Paul both looped alot of their punches n relied on hooks. Manny can't smother Margarito cuz of his size I doubt it would do him any good, he's gotta use his feet, get in n out quick n time Margarito every once in a while with a big shot coming in...presumably that would be the left uppercut he knocked Cotto down with or a left hook like the one he KO'd Hatton with

ps. I met a girl at the mall last week that was...and I never thought I could honestly say this in my life time...but a girl that was literally the hotter version of Kristin Kreuk...if thats even possible. I died and went to heaven

                Yes, it does.

It is also often used idiomatically in sports commentary in the context I used it. It's not unusual.

Short of googling out examples for you, I don't know what else to tell you.

His uppercuts look pretty damn good to me

He uppercut Clottey a few times.

                    (more of a hookercut)

But Clottey seemed to take them well since he never got wobbled. On the other hand they made Clottey even more reluctant to let his hands go....which won't be the case with Marg at all. I'm pretty sure Marg would rather die than stop throwing. Even when he was in the process of getting KTFO by Shane he was at least trying to throw.

The uppercut against Cotto was great, but that's the least you can do against Cotto. He is very vulnerable against uppercuts.

The one's against Clottey looked amateurish, like just to score points, nothing behind them.

Margarito has a good chin so straight punches and smothering will win you the fight.
